Andrea McKenzie Raine grew up in Victoria, B.C. where she still resides. She is a long-time fixture at the Mocambopo Poetry Series, which is now Planet Earth Poetry at the Black Stilt Cafe. Andrea holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Victoria and a Certificate in Public Relations. She is an aspiring poet, novelist, and freelance writer. Her poetry has appeared in Canadian Literature, Mocambo Nights, Quills, Boulevard magazine, Borderlines Anthology and Rubicon Press. She has also been published in several chapbooks edited by the esteemed Canadian poet Patrick Lane. In 2005, she published her first book of poetry A Mother’s String through Ekstasis Editions.
